This scientific writing lay guide was developed by the PCORnet Bariatric Study (PBS). The guide provides an overview of the general scientific manuscript writing process, including International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICJME) criteria guidelines, journal submission, and the specific process used in PBS. Hard-to-Reach Patient Stakeholders: An Engagement Guide (HARPS) is a toolkit for researchers and others who want to engage hard-to-reach stakeholders for patient-centered projects, including patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR). The toolkit was developed by the Wisconsin Network for Research Support (WINRS), a patient and community engagement resource based at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Nursing. The toolkit includes templates that researchers can adapt for specific projects, including a form to help researchers respectfully contact a community-based organization about collaboration on a research project. Obesity Antibiotics Study: Advancing the Science of Community Engaged Research

The engagement leadership team of the PCORnet Antibiotics Study surveyed the Executive Antibiotics Stakeholder Advisory Group (EASAG) regarding their participation and engagement in the study. The study explores the effects of antibiotic use during the first two years of life on BMI at ages 5 and 10. The goals of this survey were to determine stakeholder satisfaction; inform the study’s engagement process, and document lessons learned to benefit future studies. Its findings will be used to inform stakeholder inclusion in scientific studies, sustain engagement, and enhance future PCORnet stakeholder engagement.
